Enquire About This Product
The EDX-3 is a handheld energy dispersive XRF analyser for identifying metals on the spot. Point it at a part and it identifies the alloy grade in about 5 seconds, with accurate major-element results in about 20 seconds, without cutting or damaging the sample. It is used for positive material identification (PMI) in incoming inspection, scrap sorting, fabrication QA and precious metal checks.
It analyses elements from sulphur (S, 16) to uranium (U, 92), covering stainless steels, tool steels, chrome-moly steels, nickel and cobalt alloys, heat-resistant alloys, titanium alloys, copper alloys and precious metals such as gold and platinum. A built-in library of more than 400 grades (including GB and UNS) can be extended with more than 1,000 user grades.
The instrument has a Si-PIN detector with 145eV resolution, a 50kV/200µA silver-target tube, a 5-inch touch screen, storage for over 200,000 results and spectra, and USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth export of reports in Excel, PDF, CSV or BMP. Radiation safety includes password protection and automatic shut-off within 2 seconds if no sample is present.
For RoHS screening of plastics and electronics, see the benchtop EDX-2 series; for RoHS 2.0 phthalate screening, see the EDX-4.
