Overview
At microwave and millimetre-wave frequencies, high-power test systems often switch from coaxial cable to waveguide, which carries more power with lower loss, particularly at the antenna. A waveguide-coax adapter is the transition between the two: a waveguide flange on one side and a coaxial connector on the other, so a coaxial-output amplifier, signal source or power sensor can feed a waveguide horn or component.
Bonn Elektronik's BWCA range covers 840MHz to 50GHz in 17 standard frequency ranges. Within a frequency range, variants differ by adapter type (straight or angled) and power rating; for example, the 6.5–18GHz BWCA 0618 is offered as a straight 300W version and an angled 500W version on WRD650 double-ridged waveguide.
