ATA-8000 Series RF Power Amplifier

P1dB output power up to 300W, saturated output power up to 600W, operating frequency 100kHz to 25MHz depending on model

Driving an ultrasonic transducer, a piezoelectric element, or another RF load beyond what a signal generator can deliver on its own means adding a power amplification stage between the two, and that stage needs to preserve the signal as faithfully as possible so the drive reaching the load matches what was generated. Aigtek's ATA-8000 Series RF Power Amplifier is built for this role, designed to work directly with mainstream signal generators.

P1dB output power reaches up to 300W (ATA-8126), the output level at which gain has compressed by 1dB and the practical upper limit of linear operation, with saturated output power up to 600W. Operating frequency starts at 100kHz and extends up to 25MHz depending on the model, and gain is digitally adjustable in 0.5dB steps with one-click saving of settings.

Compatibility with mainstream signal generators means the ATA-8000 slots into an existing RF test setup as a dedicated amplification stage, rather than requiring the signal source itself to be replaced or reconfigured — a practical consideration for labs that already have a preferred signal generator and simply need the power amplification Aigtek's platform adds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between P1dB and saturated output power?

P1dB output power is the output level at which the amplifier's gain has compressed by 1dB from its linear value, a standard RF reference for the upper limit of linear operation. Saturated output power is the maximum the amplifier can deliver when driven fully into compression. On the ATA-8126, P1dB is 300W and saturated output is 600W; where signal fidelity matters, plan around the P1dB figure.

How clean is the amplified signal?

Aigtek specifies the third-harmonic level at below -25dBc at P1dB output for every model, for example <-25dBc at 300W, 1MHz on the ATA-8126. For distortion-sensitive work, operate at or below the P1dB output and check the third-harmonic figure for the specific model.

Does the ATA-8000 work with any signal generator, or does it need a specific brand?

It's built for compatibility with mainstream signal generators generally, letting it integrate into an existing RF test setup as an amplification stage rather than requiring a specific matched signal source.
