The RSY-LT Hot Wire Ignition Tester evaluates ignition characteristics of solid insulating materials and combustible materials under the action of hot wires. It simulates the ignition risk when electric heating elements (resistance wires, motor windings) overheat. Measures Hot Wire Ignition Temperature (HWIT) and Hot Wire Flammability Index (HWFI).
Hot wire: base wire Ni-Cr alloy Ø0.5±0.01mm; coil Ni80/Cr20 Ø0.5mm. Preconditioning: time 8–12s, power 0.26W/mm ±4%. Wire-to-sample contact pressure: 1±0.1N. Coil winding tension: 5.4±0.05N. Ignition duration: 0–999.9s; total test time 120s. EUT holder distance: 70mm from surface to connector plate; height 60mm. Combustion chamber volume ≥0.5m³. Material: high-temperature spray-coated steel (heat and corrosion resistant). LCD touchscreen with remote control.
