The RF Technology 3m Full Anechoic Chamber (FAR) is a fully absorber-lined shielded room with electromagnetic absorbers covering all six surfaces — four walls, ceiling, and floor — providing a true free-space electromagnetic environment. Unlike a semi-anechoic chamber, the FAR eliminates ground-plane reflections, making it ideal for antenna characterisation, radar cross-section (RCS) measurements, and testing at frequencies below 30MHz where ground-plane effects are significant.
The chamber is used for precision antenna pattern measurements, gain and directivity characterisation, antenna efficiency testing, and near-field to far-field transformations. It meets the requirements for full anechoic performance across the design frequency range and is constructed with pan-type galvanised steel shielding and RF Technology's hybrid or microwave absorber systems.
Supplied and installed in Australia by Finch Electronic Solutions as a complete turnkey project.
